Having taken what was on track two overall wins last time out at Barber before post-race penalties struck them from the order from race 1, this weekend’s eight plus seven-hour affair saw the #888 crew secure what was again on track a third in class and first in class before an earlier contact saw the crew again lose out on a class win to leave them settling for a pair of P3 finishes.
Whilst they succeeded, fellow #172 TLM Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 with the Hamman family crew as well as the 89X Motorsport AMR did not fare so well as an exhaust issue for the #89X car saw them miss out on race 1 whilst the #172 stopped two thirds through.
Whilst the #89X car was able to start race 2 on Sunday, the #172 TLM was not.
The next round of the series due at Daytona in early June has now been cancelled due to unscheduled track maintenance.
