Running both today and tomorrow at the Spa Francorchamps circuit as part of their annual pre-event Prologue test saw all bar six of those seventy-six take part in today’s morning and afternoon track sessions but with all eight AMR powered crews in attendance.
Having only competed at the opening round of the season from Paul Ricard back in mid-April, the 24 Hours of Spa will be the third round of the season with the event at Monza preparing the teams ahead of the 24hour at the end of this month. We still feature all six full season AMR entries from both the Comtoyou Racing and Walkenhorst Motorsport AMR stables (although one or two feature a driver change or two) whilst we also welcome a further entry apiece from both Belgian based Comtoyou Racing team and the British GT Championship competing Beechdean AMR squad.
Running through the expected entries in class format, the #7 Comtoyou Pro class entry of Nicki Thiim, Marco Sorensen and Matia Drudi remains constant as does the #34 Walkenhorst Pro effort of Christian Krognes, David Pittard ad Henrique Chaves whilst in Gold, we welcome back the headline hitting #33 Verstappen.com Racing entry for Harry King, Chris Lulham and Thierry Vermeulen
In the silver class we again see the #21 Comtoyou squad of Jamie Day, Kobe Pauwels, Nicolas Baert (with the addition of Xavier Massen) and the #35 Walkenhorst entry for Mateo Villagomez, Oliver Soderstrom, Romain Leroux and another driver to be announced whilst the final full season entry is of course the #270 Comtoyou Racing car of Jessica Hawkins, Antoine Potty, Alexandre Leroy and another driver to be confirmed but has Baudouin Detout running with them at this test.
The new entries include the #100 Beechdean AMR Pro-Am entry for a reunion of generations past as team boss Andrew Howard is again joined by Ross Gunn (fresh from his IMSA racing from Laguna Seca at the weekend), Valentin Hasse-Clot (who didn’t have too far to travel seeing that he was racing within the FIA WEC from Spa on Saturday) alongside team newcomer and impressive talent Anthony McIntosh.
The final car is the eventual arrival of the #11 Comtoyou Racing car but with a wholly new driver line up that previously intimated by the team with Frederic Jousset, Bernardo Sousa, Sebastian Alvarez and Sergio Sette Camera certainly placing an international flavour of driving styles within one car.
