First racing action in southern Europe this weekend with the GT4 Winter Series

 

Whilst most international eyes will be focussing upon both the Roar before the 24 test at Daytona and the 24H Series Dubai 24 Hours this weekend, there will also be the first European based race weekend taking place from Portimao as the GT Winter Series cracks open its first of a five-race weekend package.

Used by many teams and drivers as a proving ground before they reach the start of their usual race commitments later in March and April, this weekend’s entry lists show one Aston Martin Racing powered team taking part within the GT4 Winter Series package.

More akin to competing within the Iberian Supercars Series sees the Araujo Competicao team again make use of the Spanish and Portuguese based series with their new Vantage GT4 #007 Pro-Am entry of Bruno Pereira and Goncalo Araujo.

Racing amongst an expected grid of over sixteen cars, all will compete within two thirty-minute sprints (one for each driver) and one sixty-minute pitstop punctuated races where both drivers will compete.
