The Spanish based E2P Racing team rounded off their 24H Series season last night from their ‘local’ Circuit de Catalunya after another gruelling twenty-four race from Barcelona within the Creventic ran series.

Five rounds of the 2026 season now complete, last night’s P9 overall / P4 in class result for the #90 Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 powered team left team boss Pablo Burguera more than satisfied with their performance after some fairly challenging rounds across the season.

 

“The individual results and, above all, the pace shown throughout the season, leave us very satisfied with the performance of the car, the drivers and the whole E2P Racing team” he said after the race. “Our Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVO was one of the fastest cars on the track, taking the fastest 3rd lap of the entire race. The four riders gave a very solid performance, and the team ran a race with almost no errors”.

Being a twenty-four-hour race, the usual #90 crew of Burguera, Oliver Campos and Antonio Sainero were joined by Aston Martin Racing’s factory driver Henrique Chaves as the GT3 Pro-Am entry battled within a collective multi-class entry of some thirty-four runners. That marked a significant step up the order from the usually Am classed entry up until now.

 

Let’s just hope that they come back for some more Creventic lead action next season.

Creventic’s 24H Series European Cup is the first European based series to come to its natural conclusion this weekend as the series moves onto the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona, Spain for its fifth and final race of the season.

As has been the case for all bar one round, the locally based E2P Racing team will again be the sole Aston Martin Racing representative within this final twice around the clock of the season as they compete within a thirty-four car, multi-class entry at what is effectively their home circuit.

 

Drivers Pablo Burguera, Antonio Santos and Oliver Campos has again not had an easy season – their second within their #90 AMR Vantage GT3 with a lowly overall finish at the opening round at Mugello back in March with a similar result next out at Spa Francorchamps a month later. Their best result so far came at the third round from Paul Ricard where the finished P3 within the GT3 Am class before another disappointing round last time out at the Nurburgring in early July.

Getting their final round underway today at the circuit with some pre-event private testing, the #90 crew ended the day third fastest but later this week will also benefit from the racing services of Henrique Chaves as the 24Hour race takes the driving roster of most teams to four drivers.

 

Formally timed sessions will begin again on Friday with the final Free Practice session before moving into Qualifying later that day with the race itself being waved off at midday on Saturday.

For the final two Aston Martin Racing powered racers competing in Europe last weekend, it was sadly for them a case of what might have been had their not been pegged back in terms of performance from the start.

Yes, we’re back to that sordid tale of Balance of Performance again which is the primary reason that neither the #90 E2P Racing AMR Vantage GT3 did very well from the start of the 24H Series to the Nurburgring nor did the #4 Cosy Racing by ESM AMR Vantage GT4 as they battled out only their second round of the ADAC GT4 Germany Series from the Norisring.

 

For the Spanish based E2p Racing team, that was the tale being painted upon their social media channels today after their poor showing P9 in class finish to the six plus six-hour debut race for the series from the German circuit. Their matters were made exacerbated by the premature ending of Saturdays six-hour opener due to barrier damage after a high speed off for one of their competitors (thankfully uninjured as a result) and also being needlessly turned around by another car coming up the inside from a country mile away.

 

The team will now concentrate upon the fifth and final round of the European season from their home track of Barcelona towards the end of September.

Then over in Germany, the Cosy Racing with ESM had similar issues as a 30kg base weight increase to their car severely affected their chances around a circuit already not to the benefit of their AMR Vantage GT4 platform.

 

With drivers Jan Philipp Springob and Philipp Gogllock behind the wheel again, these were two very abled drivers who would have wrung the last once of power out of the car but had to make do with a P8 result in race one on Saturday. Then, and despite a reduction in that BoP change to just 20kg in race two – that only allowed the #4 crew to post a P5 result as they now look towards their third round of the season from Oschersleben at the end of month.

The Creventic lead 24H Series makes its way to Germany this weekend for their first visit to the Grand Prix circuit of the Nurburgring for the latest round of their split twelve-hour encounters with their multi-classed grids.

Having visited Italy, Belgium and France already, this round will be the penultimate round of their European Series with another season that will culminate in Spain later in September.

Thirty cars so far figure upon the entry list the #90 E2P Racing Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 of Pablo Burguera, Oliver Campos and Antonio Sainero again running solo for the marque.

 

Their last race at Paul Ricard in early June was the best result to date for the Spanish based team after they claimed a P3 finish within their Am class. Track action begins on Wednesday with private testing before Qualifying on Friday and the usual split format race over both Saturday and Sunday.

Last weekend’s 24H Series visit to Paul Ricard in southern France thankfully finally gave the Spanish based E2P Racing Aston Martin Racing powered team something to celebrate after their #90 crew secured an Am class podium finish.

Competing within another of the Creventic series six plus six-hour endurance races spread across the two days had been a prospect that may not have necessarily suited the AMR Vantage GT3 crew of Pablo Burguera, Antonio Sainero and Oliver Campos but the twelve-hour race came to prove different.

 

Hitting the track for the first time earlier last week, the #90 crew would eventually take the start to Saturdays opening half form P14 overall / P7 in class out of the collective grid size of thirty-two cars to end the day just one lap down to the overall leader P6 overall and P4 in class.

Once racing had got back under way around the mistral circuit on Sunday morning, the #90 crew were able to hang on to claim their first class podium finish of the season to finish P8 overall and P3 within their Am class.

The next round will be from the Nurburgring in Germany in early July.

Two further solo Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 powered crews will complete this weekend’s race programme as far we are concerned as one competes within the third round of each of the 24H Series and International GT Open.

Paul Ricard in southern France is the venue for the Creventic ran 24H Series with the #90 E2P Racing AMR Vantage GT3 Evo of Pablo Burgera, Antonio Sainero and Oliver Campos again running within the Am class.

 

2026 has been another one of those character building starts to the season for the Spanish based team after a distant finish eight laps down after the season opener at Mugello towards the end of March before rallying to a P3 in class podium finish last time out at Spa Francorchamps a month later.

This weekend will see another thirty-two strong multi-classed entry take to the circuit for this six + six-hour race across Saturday and Sunday with private testing already having started at the circuit today. Free Practice and class Qualifying will then fill up the diary tomorrow before the first race leg is waved off at 11:45Hrs local on Saturday with the concluding leg due to be waved off at 11:30hrs local on Sunday.

 

They will be joined by the Polish based Good Speed Racing team who will be representing the brand within this weekend’s third round of the International GT Open Series at Misano, Italy.

It’s also back to the usual race format this time around of one 70-minute race on Saturday with an hour-long finale on Sunday after the series ran a three-hour race format last time out at Spa Francorchamps.

 

This time around, we do not see the Blackthorn AMR powered crew as (we are guessing) that their application to run within next weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans would have committed them to this weekend’s Official Test Day in France but as we now know, they didn’t quite make it to the top of the reserve list.

At the Spa round, the #14 Good Speed Racing AMR crew of Piotr Wira and Tomas Magdziarz did earn themselves a P5 finish in class – so there is still much to race for the Am classed crew this time around.

Rounding a total mixed bag of race results from the various Aston Martin Racing powered teams from around the world last weekend, we leave the 24H Series visit to Spa Francorchamps till last!

With three Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 crews listed as competing within the second round of the series European calendar, it was still just the #90 E2P Racing entry that was a full season entry as both Comtoyou Racing crews were again just merely guesting at the race opportunity.

 

After the Mugello opener a few weeks ago, last weekend was another twelve-hour affair split almost equally over the Saturday and Sunday which saw the three Aston Martins claim the third and fourth rows of the grid ahead of the eighteen-car strong grid with Nicolas Baert, Xavier Knauf and Gregory Servais claiming that top honour within their #41 Am classed entry.

The Dutch duo of Tom Coronel and Jan Jaap Van Roon were next quickest in their Comtoyou Racing supported #40 Pro-Am classed entry whilst the #90 E2P Am crew of Pablo Buerguera, Oliver Campos and Antonio Sainero had to make do with their P8 overall/P3 in class starting position ahead of the first six hours of racing.

 

The opening moments of the race went surprisingly well for the AMR contingent as the #41 grabbed the lead at the end of one early Code 60 period before Coronel swapped positions with the #1 car at the head of the pack at the end of the first hour but at the midway point to Saturday’s course of racing was still the lead Aston with the other two between them in P2 and P15 for the E2P Racing crew.

The #90 crew were then going to hit down again with technical issues that would see Burguera forced to pit from P11 with hours still upon the race clock and although they were soon out again – the car was dropping laps all of the time.

 

Disaster however struck down the #40 car just half an hour before the end of the opening half to the race as Coronel pitted from fifth to hand over to Jaap Van Roon. On his outlap, the gentleman driver suffered some kind of malfunction within the car that sent him straight on into the tyre wall and barrier at Bruxelles – sustaining serious damage to the front end in the process. It did appear that the front right may not have been connected properly immediately before impact.

At the halfway stage, the #41 Comtoyou was still supporting a healthy P3 overall position whilst the #90 car, but problems soon came around for the #41 car as the grid formed up for Sundays concluding six and a half hours. Failing to make the restart, the team were seen still working upon the car as the race resumed without them but at least the #90 E2P Racing entry did make the restart.

 

Baert was later interviewed to be very disappointed with the matter as the mechanics struggled to identify and resolve the issue within the car, but it was all to no avail class wise at least.

Despite the good early running, the final results were not what anyone would want to see as the #40 Comtoyou Racing Am classed entry was confirmed as a DNF after their Saturday night accident although their sister #40 car was eventually listed as a P28 overall/ P8 in class finisher albeit forty-three laps down to the winners. The #90 crew eventually finished slightly further ahead in P26 overall / P7 in their class – thirty-nine laps down.

The trio of Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3’s which will be competing within this weekend’s second round of the 24H Series visit to Spa Francorchamps have now been confirmed.

Naturally, we will be seeing the #90 full season entry from the Spanish based E2P Racing team with their trio of drivers in Pablo Burguera, Oliver Campos and Antonio Sainero.

 

We have already seen that the Belgian based Comtoyou Racing team will be expanding their early 2026 racing endeavours with two additional AMR Vantage GT3’s with their DTM racer Nicolas Baert joining forces with his countrymen Gregory Servais and Xavier Knauf within their #41 entry.

They will now be joined by the returning Tom Coronel and Jan Jaap Van Roon within their #40 car for a second attempt at a GT3 race meeting after their somewhat disastrous debut within the GT Winter Series this year that saw them fail to make either race following an accident during Qualifying for Jaap Van Roon at a rain soaked Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona in mid-March.

 

Whilst this will be just a toe in the water for both Comtoyou Racing entries, it will be serious business again for the E2P Racing crew after they secured a P6 finish in class after the opening 6 plus 6-hour races from Mugello a month ago.

Early news from the 24H Series suggests that there may well be two more Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 entries for their next round from Spa Francorchamps to add to the full season AMR entry from the Spanish based E2P Racing team.

Both of the (potentially) new entries unsurprisingly come from the Belgian based Comtoyou Racing team who will presume Baly be adding this second twelve-hour round of the Creventic lead series as driver and team preparation for their now many 2026 AMR powered efforts.

 

We saw the Belgian based team field two such entries within the Dubai 24 a couple of years ago and also listed one such car at the corresponding round at Spa just last year but that entry failed to materialise within the race.

So, and whilst this is good news in itself, we do need to treat this with that proverbial pinch of salt too at the moment as a clearer entry list will not be released until just before the race in just under three weeks’ time.

 

 

 

It was a better finish for the E2P Racing team with their Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 after their disaster of last year as they this time completed the opening round of the 24H Series European Series from Mugello, Italy.

Last year saw an inconspicuous off for the #90 car trigger a whole host of technical issues within the car that blighted their racing efforts, not just in that race but for the next two as well.

 

This time around, the GT3 Am classed entry for drivers Pablo Burguiera, Antonio Sainero and Oliver Campus get through the wetter earlier sessions to qualify P11 overall – P4 in class ahead of the split twelve-hour race spread evenly across both Saturday and Sunday but the first the first half didn’t get well for the team as they finished the first six hours P21 overall – P7 in class.

After the overnight break, it was a long haul but up the timing board but being six laps down to the overall leader, moving back onto the lead lap would be an impossibility within this ruleset of racing.

 

Eventually rounding out the final minutes of racing under fading Tuscan sunlight, the #90 E2P Racing AMR would finish P12 overall – P6 in class after they had to have a broken damper replaced mid race but they now look forward to their next round from Spa Francorchamps in mid-April.

The opening round to the 2026 24H Series European Series highlights another healthy thirty strong mixed class grid ahead of next weekend’s twelve-hour opener from Mugello, Italy.

Running again as part of another five-event series, this season will again take us through Italy to Belgium, to France, then Germany before rounding off their year in Spain in mid-September.

 

 

Like last year, it appears that the Spanish based E2P Racing team will again be the sole Aston Martin Racing powered runner (for the season at least) as they look to take their race programme forward with their Vantage GT3 Evo had had something of a problematic start to their AMR powered partnership last year.

Drivers Pablo Burguera, Antonio Sainero and Oliver Campus return to the fold with the addition of fourth man Javier Morcillo at selected rounds as they again compete within the GT3 class having already encountered racing this year together at the GT Winter Series arranged 6Hours of Portimao.

 

 

It appears that we all get a weekend off early season motor racing this time around as we look forward to the next batch of IMSA Series racing due to take place over the final weekend in February.

Until then, and to a point where we will find out if we will have any Aston Martin Racing powered runners within the VP Racing Sportscar Challenge Series visit to CoTA, we can take a quick look back at the snippets of news that have come out from other AMR powered runners over the last week or so. (UPDATE - unfortunately there are none being listed!)

 

The Japanese D’Station Racing team where out this week in a pre-season Super GT Series test from their home circuit of Fuji Speedway.

The team have already confirmed the return of both Tomonobu Fujii and Charlie Fagg within the team’s #777 Vantage GT3 entry but it was just the team manager on hand this week as they clocked up some valuable laps as the event was curtailed to just a single day due to track conditions in the bitter cold. The team will now look forward to two official test dates before the opening round to the season from Okayama in April.

 

 

The Spanish based E2P Racing team have had their 24H Series European Series entry confirmed with a four-man driver line up and their Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 that they have already raced this year within the GT Winter Series 6 Hours of Portimao a couple of weeks ago.

This will be the team’s second season with the Aston but their fourth within the Creventic lead series.

 

 

Within the ranks of the British GT Championship, the GBR Stratton Motorsport team have again bee out pre-season testing – this time at Donington Park where a familiar face in John Hartshorne having his name above one of the doors of one of the team’s two Vantage GT4 cars that they have entered.

The team is due out again next week at Snetterton and then at Silverstone before we hopefully hear of some definitive names within their GT4 entries ahead of Media Day at Silverstone at the end of March.

 

 

Within Britcar, the Addison Racing AMR Vantage GT4 of father and son namesakes Martin and Bill Addison have also been confirmed earlier the month with the crew moving up to the 17A variant of the car late last season with some immediate class success.

 

There were steady but encouraging results from both the Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 powered crews at the end of another weather affected GT Winter Series event and their stand-alone 6Hrs of Portimao.

Just the two AMR powered entries over the originally indicated three cars saw the Belgian based Comtoyou Racing team go ‘head-to-head’ with their Spanish stablemates from the E2P Racing team. Competing amongst another diverse grid of sixteen other GT3, Cup and GT4 entries, their objectives where different but the scope of the exercise for both crews was simply get back into the racing mode ahead of the start of their intended series this summer.

 

Mother Nature has continued to throw something of a curved ball to the multi-classed contingent at this weekend’s GT Winter Series non-championship round and its six hours of Portimao.

Early indications had three Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 crews as being listed within the provisional entry list but unsurprisingly, the #21 Comtoyou Racing entry that didn’t have any drivers listed against it on Thursday has failed to materialise but that didn’t mean that their other #007 entry was short of a few drivers either.

 

 

Recording that drivers Aaron Muss, Oliver Soderstrom and Baudouin Detout as drivers entering the event, that didn’t keep away Kyle Marcelli from getting in some early European circuit laps ahead of his debut within the GT world Challenge Europe Endurance Cup season that starts later in April as well, with Detout also confirming a GT3 based season with the Belgian based team within something yet to be announced.

Joining them at the circuit, although in no need for any advanced private testing are the Spanish based E2P Racing team and their #90 AMR Vantage GT3 that we expect their drivers of Pablo Burgueira, Antonio Sainero and Oliver Campos to compete with within the 24H Series again this season.

 

The first Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3’s to hit the tracks of the GT Winter Series do just that this weekend as the Belgian based Comtoyou Racing team enter potentially two crews as well as another from the Spanish based E2P Racing team for this weekend’s 6Hours of Portimao.

Standing as a non-Championship event to that of the usual five round winter series, this weekend’s Portimao event will see up to twenty crews take part across its available GT3, GT2, Cup 2, Cup 3 and GT4 classes.

 

 

The provisional entry list published today sees the #007 Comtoyou Racing entry for drivers Oliver Soderstrom, Aaron Muss and Baudouin Detout alongside their #21 car entry which (as yet) does not have any drivers listed.

The #90 E2P Racing team enter a driver up better known for their exploits within the 24H Series European Series in team boss Pablo Burguera, Antonio Sainero and Oliver Campos.

 

 

Within the mainstream GT Winter Series calendar, we have only seen two AMR Vantage GT4 powered crews compete within their two opening events so far, but this is not the first time the Comtoyou Racing team has used at least part of the GT Winter Series as part of the summer programme build up.

Track action will begin on Thursday before individual qualifying on Saturday and the start to the main race at 11:00hrs (local) on Sunday.
