SEVEN new AMR Vantage GT3s due at GT World Challenge Europe opener at Paul Ricard next weekend
Last year we saw the Bullitt Racing team as being the sole Aston Martin Racing representative within their series with their silver class entry, but this season (aided of course with the presence of the new 2024 AMR Vantage GT3 for the first time) we will see up to seven of these new GT3 beasts running between the Comtoyou Racing and Walkenhorst Motorsport teams this year.
Confirming an entry list of fifty-five cars spread across its four available classes, both new AMR Partner teams will be fielding entries across the Pro, Bronze and Silver graded class with driver line ups more than capable of bring home the silverware.
The Belgium based Comtoyou squad still have their #11 Bronze graded squad to confirm ahead of next weekend’s opener, but they have already confirmed a full Pro line up of Nicki Thiim, Mattia Drudi and Marco Sorensen aboard their #7 car, together with Nicolas Baert, Sebastian øGaard and Finlay Hutchinson in their #12 Silver entry and Sam Dejonghe, Matisse Lismont and Charles Clark in their #21 silver entry.
Not to be outdone (but one entry less) comes the German based Walkenhorst Motorsport entry who will field drivers David Pittard, Henrique Chaves and Ross Gunn as their full Pro line up alongside Romain Leroux, Lorcan Hanafin and Maxime Robin in their #35 silver line up and Tim Creswick, Max Jensen and Ben Green aboard the sole bronze class line up.
We have now seen most of the above drivers testing their new 2024 chariots at some point already this pre-season, but what we haven’t seen yet are their new ‘in the flesh’ livery designs so next weekend’s build up will stay have a large element of new within it.
Friday will start will the bronze driver test, before Free Practice and Pre-Qualifying on Saturday, individual Qualifying on Sunday morning before the race start at 15:00hrs local.

A good news day from three Aston Martin Racing powered teams
The SRO GT World Challenge Europe Series has been the most popular so far with two teams confirming at least part of one of their Endurance and/Sprint Series line ups which will involve the new 2024 AMR Vantage GT3.
Danish based GMB Motorsport were the latest today to confirm such a move as they switch from the now retired Vantage GTE platform within the European Le Mans Series to the new Vantage GT3 within the Endurance Series.
There both young guns Gustav Birch and Simon Birch will open the team’s account within the series before Kasper H Jenson after the Belgium based Comtoyou Racing had earlier confirmed that former motocross racer, Matisse Lismont will be joining the squad having served just two seasons so far in GT racing.
With the closing of the entry list just a few weeks away together with the prospect of up to eight AMR Vantage GT3 teams eager to part within the two available series, further news will soon be following.
Rounding of the news was from the French Mirage Racing team who have confirmed their first of an expected two AMR Vantage GT4 entry into the GT World Challenge supporting GT4 European Series.
Today saw drivers Stanislav Safronov and Aleksandr Vaintrub step over to the Aston Martin having started within a Mercedes AMG GT4 together two years ago. The pairing and team will also compete together within the French FFSA GT4 Series.

GMB Motorsport test out their AMR Vantage GTE in Spain ahead of their step up to the ELMS
Having won the GT3 Le Mans Cup Series with a Honda NSX saw the Casper Elgaard lead team confirm a transition to the AMR brand in time for the final year of GTE racing within ACO rules series for their GT3 winning crew.
Utilising the technical abilities of AMR factory driver, former World Endurance Championship GTE Pro winner and country-man Nicki Thiim together with the technical services of others from the Prodrive crew, saw the team conduct a multi-car, multi-series, multi-driver two-day test at the exclusive Circuit Mike G Guadix racetrack in southern Spain this week.
There, the team reported that designated drivers Kasper H Jensen, Gustav Birch and Jens Reno Moller all completed laps during the test with their what we understand to be a brand-new car, as well as getting further coaching input from Thiim away from the racetrack in advance of that.

The European Le Mans Series kicks off at the official Prologue test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona on the 20th April with the opening round of the season just three days later.

GMB Motorsport tonight confirm an Aston Martin powered ELMS commitment for 2023
It was great to read this evening confirmation that the 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup GT3 Championship winning GMB Motorsports Team have confirmed a European Le Mans Series entry next season with an Aston Martin Racing Vantage GTE.
Having raced a Honda NSX within the Le Mans Cup, this news represents a serious step up for the Casper Elgaard led team with their Championship runner's up crew of Reno Moller, Gustav Birch and Kasper Jensen being slated to drive their latest stead.
At an official launch today, a base white coloured AMR last seen shakedown testing at Silverstone at the end of October was pictured supporting their existing sponsors of McDonalds and Mascot Workwear.
Preseason testing aside, official track action for these guys will begin at the ELMS Prologue test at Barcelona on the 19th April.
