Racing classics don't come up for sale too often but for those with the required level of disposable income, here in another chance to purchase an iconic pice of Aston Martin Racing history.

Chassis AMRVANTAGEGT3-006 is beast that stole the imagination of the race fans as they affectionately named her 'Billie' as she competed in races 9amongst others) like the ADAC Zurich N24 with a full list of AMR factory drivers such as Darren Turner, Stefan Mucke, Allan Simonsen and Pedro Lamy.


Since those heady days, the car has changed ownership several times between the likes of Paul White, Alex Lienau before residing with its current owner Mike Gensemeyer and his BritecMotorsport outfit.

Not afraid to race such beauties, one of the last races that this car competed in was the HSR Classic from Sebring, Florida in 2019.

With no Aston Martin runners registered to make the start of the opening round of the 2017 International Endurance Series, it is left to us to look for a former #TeamAMR driver for accept our support of this weekends 24hour.

Without splitting hairs over anyone who may have raced an Aston in decades gone by, it appears that the official entry list gives us a choice of five former Aston Martin GTE, GT3 or GT4 runners. They are:-

• Stuart Leonard in the #4 Belgium Audi Club Team WRT - formally of Leonard AMR (Blancpain)
• Tom Onslow-Cole in the #16 SPS Automotive Mercedes AMG GT3 - Formally of Strata 21 (British GT)
• Stuart Hall #27 GP Extreme Renault RS01 - formally of Aston Martin Racing (WEC) 
• Jack Mitchell - #229 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT4 - Still of MacMillan Racing (British GT)
• Paul White - #99 RKC/TGM Honda Civic - Formally of Strata 21 (British GT)

Picking up on a link from those very helpful people at TenTenths forum we discover that fan favourite "Billie' is continuing its racing life down in southern Europe - quite successfully really with its new owner.

Now in the ownership of German businessman and Aston Martin and general sportscar enthusiast Alexander Lienau, the Bilstein liveried Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage GT3 now runs in the Austrian Histo Cup series and German H&R Cup we last saw the car compete at the 2015 Aston Martin Racing Festival at Le Mans when the (shortened) race was won by then owner Paul White with Tom Onslow-Cole in that very car.


It appears that you can't keep a good car down!!

Its a shame to see Paul White looking to dispose of his Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT2 on racecarsdirect.com.

This is a car with a great heritage with both White and his Strata21 outfit and of course with Jota Sport in the European Le Mans Series before him. It was also one of the sports cars that helped (with Paul's assistance of course) Tom Onslow-Cole to switch from tin tops to sports car racing in the first place as seen above back at Snetterton in July 2013.


We were due to see the car again at the Aston Martin Racing Festival at the Le Mans 24hr back in 2015 had it not been for the fuel cell issue (listed in the sale details) that forced White to swap to his Bilstein liveried Vantage GT3 that he and Onslow-Cole then went on to win.

Today it was confirmed the the #28 A6 Pro class KPM V12 Vantage will now NOT compete in the next round of the Creventic 24H Series at the 12H of Mugello in mid March.

With many of the cars being returned to the UK from the 24H of Dubai only last week it has been decided to withdraw the car due to the amount of work that would be required to prepare it for Mugello and the amount of factory time that is currently available.

This decision will also have a 'knock effect' on the race preparation of the AMR factory drivers who were due to share the Strata21 car with Paul White in their preparation for the WEC Prologue and 6Hrs of Silverstone.

Well, what a difference a day makes!

There I was counting the number of cars on my fingers as and when reports came up on Twitter and low and behold it wasn't very long before things just didn't add up to our previous report. An incredible 16 Aston Martin Vantages were actually making their presence felt at the Portimao circuit.

As it turned out, three of the works V8 Vantage GTE's made the trip - namely the #97 and #99 Pro cars and the #95 Young Driver Am car. AMR reported that all the 2014 cars were tested for a gruelling 25 hours and over a day and night format by many of their prospective drivers ahead of the 2014 WEC season that kicks off at Silverstone in April.

A further GTE car for Strata 21 boss Paul White reunited again with Tom Onslow-Cole and Javier Morcillo also tested.



British GT was the next series of choice fielding a whopping 8 cars across the GT3 and GT4 field. Motorbase and TF Sport tested both of their new GT3's whilst further single cars from MP-AMR,  PGF-Kinfaun and finally (but no means least) the GT3 from Beechdean, not forgetting their new GT4 steed. The final GT3 car being tested was the Bilstein liveried car from the ADAC Nurburgring 24hr.

Beechdean GT4 debutants Ross Wylie and Jake Giddings both reported how different the Vantage was in comparison to their previous front wheel drive cars but both looked forward with eager anticipation to further pre season testing and to their new season together in British GT.

GT Open regulars, Villois racing won’t be the only Aston Martin on the grid for this weekend GT Open race at Brands Hatch. The Italian team will be joined in Super GT by Paul White’s ex Jota Sport Vantage GT2, Paul raced in the Aston Martin Le Mans Festival with Javier Morcillo who will also accompany him at Brands Hatch.

In the GTS class Aston Martin Racing MD, John Gaw and Phil Drybourgh will enter a V12 Vantage GT3. The pair will join Beechdean’s Andrew Howard and Jonny Adam later in the month for the Spa 24 Hours.
