Again running as the sole Aston Martin within the series after the Volante Rosso pulled their newer turbo charged 16A version of the car from the final two rounds of the season, the #38 pairing did not disappoint during race won after they capitalised upon the misfortune of the then class leading Ferrari to take the class win to add to their others from earlier in the year.

That, however, was countered with a technical issue of their own during their pitstop of race two that saw them lose a fistful of laps and whilst still running on track at the end, were listed as a DNF to round the year off on something of a low.

Sadly, the team do not figure within any class confirmation from the series as they only list both the Pro-Am and Am classes from a season’s results perspective.

What will become of the KMB Motorsport entry for next season we do not know, but we do know that the Sydney based Volante Rosso team have the parts and the desire to rebuild their GT World Challenge Australia efforts in time for next season’s opener wherever and whenever that may be once everything is confirmed by the SRO Series.

The team were absent from the proceedings at the previous round from Sydney Motorsport Park but last time out but did score a class second within the second race of the GT Festival meeting on Phillip Island back in late August.

This is great news considering we had confirmation of the Volante Rosso’s withdrawal from the meeting after (undefined) technical issues sidelined the #14 V8 turbo version of the Vantage platform in the early track session of the last meet at their home track in Sydney.

Track time at Bathurst will begin on Friday with two Free Practice sessions before moving into Q1 and Q2 Saturday morning ahead of the first hour long race later in the afternoon before the season finale on Sunday afternoon.
