Battle weary Le Mans Racer to join Aston Martin Concours d'elegance at Midsummer Classic
Thursday, June 17, 2010
Following over 3,000 miles of hard racing and a gallant 6th place finish in last weekend’s Le Mans 24-hour race, Aston Martin Racing team car no. 007 is set to join special agent 007’s DB5 and almost 50 other, mostly pristine Aston Martins and Lagondas in the Midsummer Classic Concours d’Elegance at Stoke Park Club on 26th June.
Driven by Adrian Fernández, Stephan Mücke and Harold Primat, the LMP1-class Aston Martin 007 again set the pace among the petrol-powered runners at the famous Sarthe circuit until the Sunday morning when a gearbox bearing failure meant an unscheduled hour in the pits. Then, having fought back from 14th place, 007 suffered a puncture with less than half an hour to go, but still managed to hold on to 6th position overall.
Aston Martin Racing works team driver Harold Primat will be taking on a less strenuous role at the Midsummer Classic as he joins the panel of expert and celebrity Concours judges.
Supported by Aston Martin Lagonda, the family-friendly Midsummer Classic will have the convivial atmosphere of a garden party where guests will enjoy generous hospitality and have access to the Concours d’Elegance.
A country club and resort with an impressive mansion clubhouse and 350 acres of historic parkland, Stoke Park Club is situated near Stoke Poges in Buckinghamshire.
Tickets are available for both the daytime Midsummer Classic and the evening ThunderBall events. Contact CTR Events on 0208 741 8822 or reservations@clubtertrerouge.co.uk,www.midsummerclassic.co.uk
