Wednesday, June 30, 2010
French team Hexis AMR will have home advantage at Paul Ricard HTTT and are determined to utilize it to secure a solid points haul in the fourth round of the GT1 World Championship this weekend.
The two Aston Martin DB9s entered by Hexis produced strong results in the last two rounds. At Silverstone, Fred Makowiecki and Thomas Accary in No.9 won the Qualifying Race with Jonathan Hirschi and Clivio Piccione making it a Hexis one-two with second place.
Makowiecki and Accary then went on to finish second in the Championship Race.
At Brno, Hirschi and Piccione produced a solid performance with a fourth place finish in the No. 10 car in the Championship Race while Makowiecki, partnered by former Formula One driver and Le Mans triple pole man Stephane Sarrazin in the No.9, was ninth.
At Ricard, a short distance from the Hexis team workshop, Accary and Makowiecki will be paired together again.
“We’re trying to work as hard as possible to prepare this crucial race for our team. We are determined to be strong at home,” said Phillipe Dumas Hexis team manager.
“There will be a lot of people to support our team and cars. We know we have real pressure on our shoulders in the world championship, added to the one we already felt in the European championship.
"It won’t be easy, but it’s our responsibility. Our team is ready, our drivers are ready, and we have such a will, such cohesion that, in the end, nothing scares me.”
Hexis will also be enlivening the race weekend atmosphere with an array of special events.
“It is our most important event operation of the season,” Clement Mateu of Hexis said. “We will host 300 people of whom about a hundred are Hexis group employees, who will gladly come and support the team.”
Events include a special promotion related to the energy drink Kalaschnikow to celebrate the first anniversary of their subsidiary, Hexis Energy. Additionally, there will be a bar, show car, DJ, and grid girls running a car washing station.
“We expect a nice party for everyone and hope positive results for the team on their own field.”
