Beechdean to campaign V12 Vantage GT3 in 2012 British GT season
Thursday, November 24, 2011
Beechdean Motorsport will campaign a factory supported Aston Martin GT3
V12 Vantage in next year’s British GT championship along with other selected
events.
Speaking to AUTOSPORT Beechdean team boss Andrew Howard confirmed the
teams 2012 program “We’re definitely in
British GT and the aim is to do the Spa 24H and some Blancpain Endurance Series
races if we can” said Howard “it’s very much Beechdean carrying on, but with
the extra depth of manufacturer support. The whole aim is to push the car
forward. It’s a fantastic opportunity for Jonny and me to be involved with the
next generation of GT3 Aston”
The GT3 Vantage will
replace the Beechdean’s five-year-old DBRS9 which the team raced to two
victories in 2011
“We learned a lot driving a five-year-old car” said Howard “so
if we can build on that with a new one we hope we can be at the top level in
British GT.”
Howard will again be partnered by Jonny Adams who’s
impressive performance during the 2011 season saw him regarded as one of the
top drivers in the series.
“I think he’s come into British GT and shown he has a true
talent. With the level of British GT now you need a top driver, not just in the
car but with training the armature driver too.”
The British GT season will get underway at Oulton Park April
7th
