Spa 24Hr suspended at the 5hour mark - Updated

The scene above is what motorsport should be remembered for - iconic brands preparing magnificent machines to be raced at full speed around historical circuits like Spa Francorchamps.

However, what has been seen at Spa over the last couple of hours or so has been so removed from this ideal to a point where the race's continuation was surely/maybe is under some doubt - and now having to suspend a race after 4 safety car periods to allow two medivac helicopters to transfer yet more race car drivers straight to hospital is never good where ever you may be and our thoughts go out to all those involved.

We can only hope that all news is good news and that any resulting racing is the best racing - safe!

Until news of the individuals concerned has been positively confirmed the current positions is almost irrelevant!
