Hollywood to finally race in British GT

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

Celebrity baker and Aston Martin enthusiast Paul Hollywood has today confirmed that he will participating in the second half of the 2016 British GT Championship in a Beechdean V8 Vantage GT4.

Speaking at the news conference at the championship's Media Day at Snetterton in Norfolk today, Hollywood confirmed that he will be continuing his race craft development with Andrew Howard's Beechdean Motorsport team and will enter the final three races of the British GT season competing at Spa Francorchamps, Snetterton and finally at Donington Park all with an as yet announced co driver.

It appears that Hollywood's hectic BBC contract is the main reason why his participation is not (for this year at least) a fully season entry and they will be competing in the GT4 Pro/Am class.  Whilst it is widely known who his co driver will be it is only appropriate that we respect the wishes of the team and not disclose that until official confirmation can be provided but speaking to her that could be as early as next week!

Commenting after his announcement Hollywood  said that "following his introduction to the team at the tail end of 2013 and with the subsequent mentoring from then team mate and now AMR factory driver, Jonny Adam he would be looking to emulate the performance of Andrew Howard himself and simply win" (a little tongue and cheek I'd suspect! )

For Hollywood 2015 consisted of a couple of GT Cup and Britcar outings with either Adam or Howard beside him before culminating at the Aston Martin Racing Festival at Le Mans last June when he shared the teams GT4 with Prodrive's David Richards.
