Gulf 12Hours beckons Generation AMR SuperRacing (Updated)

Wednesday, December 14, 2016

After many weeks of intensive preparation tomorrow sees that start of proceedings for the 2016 Gulf 12Hrs from the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Now the sole representative of the Aston Martin Racing brand, Generation AMR SuperRacing arrive at the circuit with their brand new AMR V8 Vantage GT4 and their season long driver line up of Matt George and James Holder. Joining them for this 12 hour marathon will also be Britcar GT Champion Chris Murphy.

This will be the second time that George will have shared an AMR GT4 with Murphy after the final round of the Britcar series at their annual 'Into the night' race at Brands Hatch last month which Murphy had shared up until then with either Jody Fannin or Jonny Cocker.

With both George and Holder being relatively inexperienced at the start of the 2016 season both will be looking to round off their 2016 with their best racing performance to date at the toughest and longest race both have entered.

Additionally, Holder also being a controlling party within the SuperDry clothing empire the car arrives with another outstanding bespoke livery that will light up superbly under the circuits lighting during Saturday's race.

Twenty four cars line up across the three class entry format with GT4's entering the GTX class, GT3's in the GT class and Prototypes in the third. First official practice starts tomorrow evening (local) with further Free Practice and Qualifying on Friday. The first of the two part race set up starts at 09.30hrs (local) with the final six hours starting again at 17.30hrs (local).

We will hopefully bring you news as and when it is available over the weekend.

Good luck guys!!
