Down to business of AMR ELMS runners at Le Mans Test

Saturday, June 03, 2017

Two additional Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GTE's of course join the factory squad for tomorrows test in the form of Beechdean AMR and TF Sport with their beautifully liveried #99 and #90 cars.

Returning to the Le Mans 24H for 2017 by virtue of securing last years European Le Man Series GTE Championship will be team boss Andrew Howard with two new, but no means unfamiliar faces in the guise of fellow ELMS 2017 team driver Ross Gunn together with team newcomer Olly Bryant.

Joining them at Le Mans for their first time will be the TF Sport entry of Salih Yoluc and Euan Hankey who, together with Rob Bell, will take their place on the grid for their efforts in securing last years GT3 Le Mans Cup Team Championship. Now also entered into the 2017 ELMS series their driver line up will be adjusted as Nicki Thiim has to step aside from the #90 to fulfil his own duties within the #95 factory car. That being said, Rob Bell will miss tomorrows test as he is at Zolder with his McLaren Customer commitments within the Blancpain Sprint Series but it would be unlikely to see two new comers will be 'allowed' to fend for themselves at the test.

Having actually completed their first experience of the Le Mans last year with Gary Hirsch and Liam Griffin, Andrew Howard will be looking to take another step up his own developmental ladder by securing a podium position this time out.

We also don't think that it will be too outrageous to suggest the the squad within the #90 will set themselves similar objectives but one thing will be for sure - both Yoluc and Hankey will be wearing the biggest smiles as they take their first and race mandatory ten Rookie laps tomorrow.
