Two AMR's to take the start of the 2017 Gulf 12Hrs

After many weeks of waiting, a more concise entry list has finally been published by the race organisers to confirm that there will be just two Aston Martin Racing platforms competing at this years Gulf 12Hrs event from Abu Dhabi in just under two weeks time.
These entries will be made up of the return of the Oman Racing squad with their TF Sport prepared AMR V12 Vantage GT3 to the event having skipped the event last year and the return of the Generation AMR SuperRacing with their sveltely liveried David Appleby Engineering prepared AMR V8 Vantage GT4.
First glimpses of the revised entry list would suggest a reduced grid but in fact (and as long as everyone on it does indeed takes the start) will see a slight improvement on the numbers of last year although the additional cars have come at the expense of the lower classes with just three cars in the GTX3 (GT4) class in which GenerationAMR will compete.
We already know that Almad Al Harthy returns to the track with his Race to Le Mans winning co driver in Tom Jackson who will be joined this time by UK Carrera Cup driver Euan McKay whilst the third driver to Matt George and James Holder in the GenerationAMR car has still to be confirmed.
The split format 12 hour race track activities starts on Thursday 14th December with the two part race taking place on the Saturday day/night afterwards.
