Getting ready for China GT 2018

Sunday, April 01, 2018

Under the watchful eye of the guys from Aston Martin Racing Customer Support, the two China Equity AMR V8 Vantage GT4's went through some last minute shakedown testing in Malaysia last week.

The Official Test for the 2018 season is in just three weeks time and will again be held at the Beijing Goldenport circuit in readiness for the first two races of the first meeting scheduled for Zhuhai (just north of Macau) three weeks after that.

We understand that Prodrive have recently built a number of new GT4 platforms that have been destined for the Chinese racing market but in the absence of any official entry list, we do not know whether of not any of these new cars will race in the China GT series or with the team.

We do know however, that Aston Martin Racing will be again supplying two of their 'young guns' to their Partner team to run in their national championship confirming at least a two car programme (being a Pro/Am championship) for them.

Both Ross Gunn and Jack Mitchell return to the championship in 2018 having each driven for the team last year at separate events with each claiming a consignment of silverware along the way with their gentleman driver Stanley Yang. This years increased commitment from the the Prodrive factory shows greater intent from the team to challenge for the GT4 title in 2018 having skipped a number of rounds last year.
