Saturday, April 21, 2018

The first Blancpain GT Endurance Cup meeting of the season is proving itself to be hard work for the TF Sport prepared, Oman Racing team over in Monza today.

With the driver crew of Ahmad Al Harthy, Euan McKay and Charlie Eastwood appearing to have  enjoyed some progressive preparatory work during the two Free Test sessions of yesterday, it was later confirmed this morning that the #97 was in fact hobbled with damage that would require a whole new front end rebuild to resolve.

With the exact extent of damage (or cause) undefined, Tom Ferrier team spent the next few hours stripping out and rebuilding the whole front end of the V12 Vantage GT3 just in time to be able to use the last few minutes of the Pre-Qualifying session today as a shakedown test to finish the day less than a second off the ultimate pace the session leading SMP Ferrari Pro car.

A phenomenal achievement - well done guys!!

The three Qualifying sessions take place tomorrow morning ahead of the three hour race that starts at 15:00Hrs Local.
