Fourth Place For The Heart of Racing Team

The Heart of Racing team enjoyed success at the Mid-Ohio SportsCar Course today with drivers Ian James and Roman De Angelis bringing the #23 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 home in fourth, a new season-best for the team.

Kicking off the day with qualifying, James was able to make the most of the improved speed that has been the focus of the team’s recent testing and practice efforts. Starting the afternoon’s race in fifth, James made headway through the field gaining ground and making it all the way to second place. Following the second yellow, James pitted and handed over driving duties to De Angelis who returned to the track in sixth. Fighting off the competition De Angelis quickly had the car up in fourth, and held on to the position all the way to the checkered flag.

Ian James:
A great weekend all round. Changes were made and improvements were seen and we are really learning how to get the best out of this car. This team never fails to impress and put in all they have to continuously improve in every aspect of the car’s and team’s performance. I’m hopeful that it won’t be long before the first podium and a result truly worthy of everyone’s efforts.

Roman De Angelis:
An amazing weekend for the team. Once again we’ve proved how we are constantly making strides forward with the car. From first practice through today, the changes we made had a significant impact on the performance of the car. Super happy with today’s result and look forward to even better results coming.

The team looks forward to the next race, the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on 10th October.
