Strong package leads to Keating committing early to a TF Sport Aston Martin Racing return in the WEC for 2022

Texan racer Ben Keating will make a return to the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2022, with TF Sport and Aston Martin, in the GTE-Am class.

The #33 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage GTE line-up is yet to be confirmed, however, there will be a change to Keating’s teammates for next season, due to Dylan Pereira’s FIA driver grading being upped from Silver to Gold.

After similar comments made during interview after his opening stint of the Bahrain 6Hr race on Saturday, Ben Keating added that “clearly, TF Sport run a great team and the Aston suits me pretty well. I look back at this year and feel like we could have had wins in three other races. It is still my hope to win the championship, but if we don’t, then it will definitely be the main goal for 2022.”

For the first time in eight years, 2022 will be the first time that Keating will race in the same car at Le Mans, for a second consecutive blue riband event.

“It’s fantastic to have Ben back. It is clear to everyone that he is a stand out driver. Another year working together and I am confident we can win both the World Championship and the world’s biggest race” said Team boss Tom Ferrier.

TF Sport and Keating will be fighting for the GTE-Am honours this weekend, November 6, at the Bahrain International Circuit for the WEC finale. The #33 Vantage currently lies second in the standings, 21.5 points behind the #83 AF Corse Ferrari. Coming off the back of last week’s WEC win, the crew will be giving it their all to claim as many of the 39 points available.

Let’s just hope the speculation of another ‘satisfied customer’ also returning to the team for next season also comes to fruition.
