One fifth of the 50 GT4 European Series crews entered at Imola powered by Aston Martin

Wednesday, March 23, 2022

Just a little earlier than usual, the GT4 European Series today confirmed a massive fifty car grid ahead of their opening round of the 2022 season next weekend from Imola.

Amongst those fifty GT4 cars listed were a mighty TEN crews running Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT4s in the series, many for the first time in either the series or the platform but well represented across the available Silver Cup, Pro-Am and Am Classes.

Many of these ten crews have already been declared and made public since the start of the year with the AGS Events Racing team returning to this SRO series with a three car effort in both Silver Cup and the Am class whilst the Racing One team multiple their 2022 effort from the single car of last year to three cars at Monza (and with another waiting to join in when appropriate) with two further cars each from both the Racing Spirit of Lemans and PROsport Racing teams.

Today’s only revelation was the return of former British GT GT4 winner Tom Canning to the series, this time competing with the Swiss based Racing Spirit of Lemans team with another series returnee Akhil Rabindra.

Another point was that whilst the Imola entry list features ten AMRs, the full season entry list features eleven as the Moritz/Vincent Gisy Racing One AMR is missing from next weekend’s opening rounds.
