D'Station Racings Vantage GT8R back in action at Rd 3 of the Super Taikyu Series

Tuesday, July 05, 2022

The Hankook Super Taikyu Series is back in action this weekend, this time with a three-hour race around the circuit of Sugo for what will be their third round of seven this season.

Having already competed at Suzuka and then most recently at the 24 hours of Fuji, the #47 D’Station Racing Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT8R will remain as the sole Aston Martin present going into this round as their Vantage GT3 crew again remain preoccupied in Europe with another clashing date with the World Endurance Championship – this time from Monza.

With the team now racing the Vantage GT8R for the 2022 season, that has moved the #47 crew from the ST-Z GT4 class to the smaller ST-1 class for enhanced GT4 platforms.

Results from the previous rounds saw the crew take a class third in the debut event with the car in the series before going one better at the Fuji 24Hr with an overall fifth and class second finish. Those results have the #47 car laying in second in class behind the double race winning #2 KTM X-Bow.

This weekend’s #47 driver line up sees the return of Tatsuya Hoshino, Max Orido and Kenji Hama.
