Just a few more races to see out 2022

Monday, November 14, 2022

Yesterdays FIA World Endurance Championship’s Rookie test after the final round of that Championship at the Bahrain International Circuit on Saturday effectively saw the end of mainstream racing action this year with just a couple of events to help pass the time between now and the start of the 2023 season.

Six lucky drivers from around the world and from differing class/platform experiences enjoyed somewhat limited running between them in either the #98 Northwest AMR or #777 D’Station Racing AMR Vantage GTE’s with teenage Asian Le Mans/European Le Mans racer Finn Gehrsitz being the fastest of the guesting Aston Martin drivers in the morning session (with a lap time of 2:02:715) with Porsche Supercup/Carrera Cup racer Lorcan Hanafin being quickest in the afternoon session with a lap time of 2:02:717.

Racers Ryan Hardwick, Patrick Gallagher, Indy Dontjie and Jonathon Hoggard completed the AMR test programme under the watchful eye of WEC GTE Am class runner up and Northwest AMR crew member David Pittard.

Moving into the final weeks of the year, we sadly do not see any AMR representation within next weekend’s Macau Grand Prix but we should have two D’Station Racing AMR cars entered into the final round of the Super Taikyu Series from Suzuka the week later where the teams #47 Vantage GT8R chase their Class title before a welcomed return of the Century Motorsport team to the 24H Series with their AMR Vantage GT4.

There, drivers David Holloway, Adam Hatfield and Bradley Ellis compete within the new for 2022 12Hours of Kuwait before the year is rounded off with the first round of the GT Winter Series in Portimao where we expect one – maybe two AMR Vantage GT4’s from the PROsport Racing stable.

After that, it will be something of a wait before continuing rounds of the GT Winter Series before also the opening rounds of the GT New Zealand Series in January.
