Van Der Steur confirm an Aston Martin GT4 Michelin Pilot Challenge crew (UPDATED)

Monday, December 19, 2022

Van der Steur Racing has today become the latest team to confirm their new Aston Martin Racing powered commitment within the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Series having expanded from their usual TCR Class commitment within the series for 2023.

Usually fielding a Hyundai Veloster TCR class of car, today’s news sees Rory Van Der Steur move up to the GS Class within their new Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and will be joined by Austin McCusker, who already has IMSA experience within the now defunct LMP3 Prototype Challenge as well as in the European Le Mans Series in that class.

Citing just an entry into the Michelin Pilot Challenge Series today, the team does leave room for further news between now and the start of the IMSA season at the end of January.

Van Der Steur joins the Team TGM squad who have already confirmed their two AMR car Michelin Pilot Challenge commitment – they will not be the last!!

UPDATE

As almost promised by the team after Mondays original announcement, yesterday saw the team confirm a third driver for the four hour opening round of the Michelin Pilot Challenge Series from Daytona in late January with young single seater racer Wyatt Brichacek also joining the squad.

Having spent the last four years within the North America Single seater ladder process, 2023 sees the twenty three year old move up to both GT's with Van der Steur Racing within the MPC and an LMP3 drive within the forthcoming Asian Le Mans Series with the Inter Europol Team.
