A great day at Donington Park for the two Aston Martins in the Masters GT Trophy

It turned out to be a successful debut for the new Master’s GT Trophy Series from Donington Park earlier today for the two Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4’s entered amongst the ten-car entry.

With an eligibility of GT4, one make Trophy and Challenge cars dated between 2007 and 2018, allowed the #247 Vantage N24 of Chris Griffin and #189 Vantage GT4 of Martin Addison to compete amongst a grid otherwise made of Lamborghini Trofeo’s, Porsche Cup cars as well as two Ginetta G55’s and a BMW GT4.


Having had two fine Easter weekend days of testing, Qualifying and then two races today around the Leicestershire circuit, the two Aston runners ended their first forty-minute race P6 overall and P2 in the GT4/G1 class for Addison and P7 overall and first in class for the 247 GT4/G3 class car of Griffin.


In Saturdays second race of the day, those race one results were improved upon with the #247 car of Griffin finishing P5 overall and again first in class with Addison finishing P7 overall and third in their class making for overall GT4 results of P2 and P4 for the #189 car over the two races and P3 and P2 respectively for the #247 car.


The next round of the Masters GT Trophy Series is listed as being at the Historic Festival at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 27/28th May.
