Racing Spirit of Lemans four hour season finale within the Ultimate Cup Series
Monday, November 20, 2023
Whilst the Iberian series will have a couple of Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT4 powered crews within their midst, this weekend’s final round of the Ultimate Cup Series will see an ‘off the cuff’ Racing Spirit of Leman Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 run for a trio of drivers put into touch with one another by (presumably) AMR factory driver Valentin Hasse-Clot.
With the entry list for the Endurance GT – Touring Challenge round now out for the series UCS Super Final event at the south of France circuit, we see that the #10 car will drive with a crew consisting of bronze ranked drivers Derek DeBoer and Florent Grizaud alongside the silver ranked driver of Erwan Bastard.
Whilst all will have a familiarity of one thing or another within this equation, none will have raced this car, together and within this series before so they should fit in quite nicely amongst the eighteen other entries of this still sub-divided class grid. DeBoer has just completed his first GT3 based series back home in America with his own AMR Vantage GT3 whilst Grizaud has stayed within the ranks of GT4 racing again this season within the FFSA GT4 and GT4 European Series. Bastard comes with more GT3 based experience after a season’s worth of racing within the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Series.
Competing within the GT3 Am class, the #10 will compete against just three other cars in class but against a diverse grid that also sees the Renault RS01, Ligier JS2 R, Porsche Cup and GT4 based cars.
Track action will begin this Friday with two Private Free Practice sessions before another on Saturday morning ahead of three Qualifying sessions later that day. They then have a four-hour race to look forward to starting Sunday morning.
