Teamwork within #TeamAMR shines bright

Thanks to various posts published on both the Dailysportscar.com and Endurance Info websites this week, we can now fully understand the complexities of the Aston Martin Racing and Partner teams operations in these early days of the new Vantage GT3.

Teamwork is certainly a term well used within the motorsport arena, and that has certainly been the case in recent weeks where one AMR powered team has been reliant upon another just to get a car on track for either testing or race purposes.

With car parts still in such short supply, this week we learned how the Comtoyou Racing team was able to source essential parts from the Street Art Racing team after damage was sustained to a couple of their new Vantage GT3 cars during last week’s preparations for the opening round of the GT World Championship Endurance Cup from Paul Ricard. They in turn had to borrow the Racing Spirit of Leman Vantage GT3 for that round before handing that car back for this week’s European Le Mans Series Prologue test from Barcelona.

Joining the Racing Spirit of Leman Vantage LMGT3 car in Spain was of course the Grid Motorsport with TF AMR Vantage LMGT3 which itself sustained damage after an incident on track on Monday. With parts for the new Vantage GT3 still in such short supply, the Comtoyou Racing team have graciously loaned the TF Sport one of their other available platforms just so that the #97 car can take part in this weekend’s ELMS opener.

So, what first looked like the potential withdrawal of one of the two Aston Martin’s entered into the full ELMS season has now reverted back to a two-car entry thanks to good old-fashioned teamwork within #TeamAMR - which can only be applauded for so many reasons!

Qualifying for the opening round of the ELMS is on Saturday ahead of an 11:30hrs local start to the four-hour race on Sunday.
