Two Aston Martins prepare for next weeks ELMS Prologue test from Barcelona

The European Le Mans Series gears up for its annual Prologue test days next week from the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona in Spain.

Forty-three cars make up another capacity grid for the ACO rules series which also sees the GTE class change to the new for 2024 LMGT3 class where two Aston Martin Racing powered teams make up part of that eleven strong class.

This year again sees the Tom Ferrier led TF Sport team prepare another Aston Martin Racing car, this time on behalf of the Grid Motorsport team where drivers Martin Berry, Lorcan Hanafin and AMR factory driver Jonny Adam will contest within the #97 car whilst the Racing Spirit of Leman team enter the second.

Having won the Le Mans Cup Series GT3 class last season, AMR factory driver Valentin Hasse-Clot persuaded former GT World Challenge America GT3 racer Derek DeBoer to come along for the season after an encouraging debut act in Europe within the final round of the Ultimate Cup Series at Paul Ricard last season. They will be joined by former D’Station Racing Vantage GTE racer Casper Stevenson within their #59 car.

Monday will see three track sessions made available to the LMP2, LMP3 and GT3 classes (morning/afternoon and evening) before two further sessions on Tuesday.

Contrary to previous announcements, the supporting Le Mans Cup Series will now NOT see any Aston Martin’s within their midst’s as the two previously announced Blackthorn AMR entered cars have fallen off the entry list for round 1 (at least) from Barcelona this weekend coming.

Two more very beautifully liveried cars!!
