Aston Martin launch AMR Drivers Club
Aston Martin is set to launch a brand new programme in 2019, where customers can enjoy exhilarating race track experiences at iconic circuits, with expert guidance available through the AMR Drivers’ Club. This customer-focused driving academy will offer various levels of tuition to suit each driver, from exploring the capabilities of their own Aston Martin to finding the limit in some of the marque’s most extreme track cars, for those with aspirations to race.
Sebastien Delmaire, Director of Aston Martin Partnerships, said: “Our customers have been enquiring about this type of programme for a while now so we are delighted to be able to offer such a strong and structured package of experiences. From the customer who would like to know what his or her Aston Martin is capable of, from the manufacturer who designed and built their car, to those wishing to hone their track skills with future ambitions of racing, we have it covered.”
The Aston Martin track programme will initially offer three key pillars of experiences, each containing various levels as outlined below.
AMR Experience
The entry level of AMR Experience is called Discovery and it provides an introduction to the brand and products, with 1-to-1 tuition from a dedicated Aston Martin instructor. The next level is known as Performance, an opportunity for owners to fully explore the capabilities of their own Aston Martin with the additional option of a dedicated instructor to provide appropriate guidance.
AMR Academy
Drivers will train with professional Aston Martin instructors and experience the latest Aston Martin models, working from Level 1 to Level 3 for one and a half days per level. As they develop their track capabilities, the customer will then progress to the next level, until they are ready for the AMR GT Academy.
AMR GT Academy
One and a half days of 1-to-1 tuition in a race-prepared GT4 Aston Martin awaits customers with the desire to push their driving skills on to new levels. For those with ambitions to compete, our AMR GT Academy provides the perfect platform to support you in working towards your racing licence.
The track experiences in 2019 will take place at nine significant race circuits, many of which have hosted famous F1 races and each with their own unique layout. The programme will commence with Algarve International Circuit on 19/20 March. Customers can also enjoy visits to the challenging Spa-Francorchamps, the home of British motorsport at Silverstone on 4/5 September and the distinctive Barcelona Circuit on 16/17 September.

Today was obviously AMR Day at Goodwood Festival of Speed opener
Glancing through the various streams of social media, it was obvious that those at the Goodwood Festival of Speed today (and this weekend to be exact) have had an absolute treat as Aston Martin unleashed some of their latest machinery up that infamous hill.
Using the event to launch their latest extreme track day 'weapon' in the form of the re-engineered and upgraded Vulcan AMR Pro option, the brand also went onto to showcase cars like the Vantage AMR Pro, another car never previously seen run in public till now.
The Vulcan AMR Pro upgrade package is now available to any of the owners of the 24 Vulcan cars that were produced by AML in 2016 and will allow an already monster car experience greater acceleration of the corners as well as greater aerodynamic stability - if it ever needed it.
The even more limited edition AMR Vantage Pro, one of just seven in existence also saw its first public outing today although the lane through the private estate is hardly conducive for any significant pace from any vehicle without paying a hefty price.
Those attending the four day event will also benefit from the spectacle of Aston Martin running a number of their most recent road car editions as well as runs from the #97 Aston Martin Racing Le Mans GTE Pro winning car in the hands of Jonny Adam.

For those who all thinks Aston Martin, make sure you check out the catalogue for the 2017 Aston Martin Sale that takes place on on the 13th May via the Bonhams auction website.
Here you could find anything from an old enamel badge through to an old barn find back around to a virtually brand new Vantage GT12.
Two things that stuck out were 1/4 scale wind tunnel models of the old AMR-1 Group C car as well as its intended replacement - the AMR-2 - a car that never got to see a race track.
The knowledgable people at AstonMartins.com have a great little piece on what the AMR-2 could have been which can be found HERE

Exciting times ahead for Aston Martin on and off the track
Today has certainly been a very busy day for both Aston Martin and Aston Martin Racing, both on and off the track with a whole plethora of announcements being made.
Starting off track - parent company Aston Martin Lagonda have had a busy day at the Geneva Motor show launching (amongst other things) a new range of AMR inspired road cars, further complimenting its fleet of cars equally at home both on and off track.
Revealing the two Aston Martin Racing influenced cars, the Rapide AMR and Vantage AMR Pro set an early benchmark for the day with these two cars being the first of many more AMR influenced designs currently being developed by David King's Special Operations department.
These two awesome looking machines follow in the footsteps of the Vulcan hyper car as well as the Vantage GT8 and GT12 road-racers - cars that have already earned their 'stripes' at events at the Nordschleife amongst others.
A great personal touch today came with Young Driver AMR boss Jan Struve taking the applause from the crowd alongside WEC Champions Nicki Thiim and Marco Sorensen despite his organisation's decision to step back from competitive motorsport in 2017.
Thank you for what you have done Jan and we hope to see you back in the very near future.
Note the new team wear - hopefully that will be available to buy very soon - some items already are via HERE
Elsewhere - Motorland Aragon in Spain to be specific, you would find many more of the Aston Martin Racing WEC squad undertaking the first of a multi day Dunlop tyre test in readiness for the start of the season that starts with the Prologue at Monza at the end of March.
From the picture above (thanks to Darren Turner for that) the team have at least two cars at the circuit including visual confirmation of a new 2016 specification #98 car that will run in GTE Am with Paul Dalla Lana, Mathias Lauda and Pedro lamy.
Another pointer with this car is that is at the 'Dunlop' tyre test with Dunlop stickers so its looking likely the team have decided to revert back to a more proven Dunlop tyre from the Michelin that they ran in the latter half of last season.
We understand that testing alongside Turner is his team mate Jonny Adam as well as Dunlop tyre development driver Daniel Serra being on hand again - BeechdeanAMR's Ross Gunn is also there although we do not think he will be driving.
Finally this afternoon came confirmation that Aston Martin Racing have committed to a further five years within the World Endurance Championship - again leading the GTE field from the front.
All in all its been a very good day for #TeamAMR
