An evening of celebration - the official version!

CELEBRATING 2016

Aston Martin Racing, its customers and partners have celebrated the most successful year in the team's history with an evening at the historic Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. Guests were greeted by all five championship-winning cars driving into the palace before the drivers and team managers received a limited edition print created by Aston Martin chief creative officer, Marek Reichman, to recognise their achievements.

THREE CAR LINE UP FOR WEC

Aston Martin Racing has confirmed a three car line up for the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2017. Marco Sorensen and Nicki Thiim will drive the 95 car; Darren Turner and Jonny Adam the 97 car; while Paul Dalla Lana, Mathias Lauda and Pedro Lamy will lead an assault on the Am title in the 98 car, which will be upgraded to the latest 2016 specification. For Le Mans, an extra driver will be added to both the Pro cars with the works cars joined by GTE entries from Beechdean AMR and TF Sport.

The 2017 works car will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show on March 7.

TWO ENTRIES IN ELMS

Beechdean AMR will return to the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) in 2017 with the aim of retaining the GTE title they won last year with a revised driver line up of Andrew Howard, Ross Gunn and Darren Turner. However, this year they will have the added competition of a TF Sport Vantage GTE driven by Salih Yoluc, Euan Hankey and Nicki Thiim. Both teams will also be running their GTEs in the Am class at Le Mans.

PRE-SEASON TEST

15 works and customer Aston Martin racing cars spent a long weekend at the Algarve Circuit in southern Portugal in February for the exclusive annual Aston Martin Racing pre-season test. Everyone was able to get three full days of running, including a night session in preparation for the season ahead.

AMR celebrate past and future successes at Blenheim Palace event

Aston Martin Racing, together with invited customer teams and guests celebrated their combined successes from a very successful 2016 season as they all looked forward to their continuing success in 2017 at a special black tie event in Oxfordshire last night.

Amidst the magnificent architecture of World Hertitage Site and home of the 12th Duke of Marlborough, Blenheim Palace came the unmistakeable sounds of V8 and V12 race cars being driven (albeit rather slowly) into the central courtyard.

Cars of Champions were lined up as the guard of honour for the celebratory event that was unfortunately completely under reported by Aston Martin Racing with details only emerging from the social media accounts of some of the attendees.

Luckily for us, Beechdean AMR's Andrew Howard did at least tweet footage of AMR's Customer Programme Manager Andy Williamson praising and thanking all at BeechdeanAMR for the racing efforts, past and present, before awarding Howard, Darren Turner and Alex MacDowall with a further team accolade for their Championship winning season last year in the ELMS.

With an extensive guest list make sure that you check out the social media accounts of AMR teams and drivers for some great photos and video's.

Here's to a great 2017 #TeamAMR
