Without pre-empting the announcement to be made later this week regarding the final entry list for their 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup Series, we understand that this outing was a final ‘live racing’ test scenario for the team ahead of the LMC season that starts at Paul Ricard in France in just over a month’s time.

Such was the weather at the weekend’s event that this would have been great practice for Gentleman driver Pattrick with the circuit changing on Sunday between almost flooded to bone dry conditions (and everything else in-between) during the course of the two – twenty-five minute races that they competed in.

Considering the track conditions during race 1, Hasse-Clot’s delivery of P3 overall (P1 in class) to overall race win was textbook for the Frenchman – getting past two faster LMP3 cars before the first corner and making full use of his traction control eventually gave him a seven second winning margin after the Safety Car punctuated race.

Pattrick was up next for the days second sprint race and having Qualified in P12 had more work to do with the Porsche Cup and GT4 cars that surrounded him on the now dry track. Obviously short on race seat time over the winter months, Pattrick wasn’t able to move along too far and would eventually finish P10 overall and P3 in class by the close.

There should have then been a forty-five minute, pit stop and driver change punctuated race to close the day but with personal reasons being cited by the team the #33 car was a non-starter.

Now we just need to wait for the official LMC announcement tomorrow for confirmation of their 2022 plans.

Just a few days ahead of their expected entry confirmation within the Michelin Le Mans Cup Series has the new AMR Partner team of Stephen Pattrick entering the final round of the GT Winter series with Valentin Hasse-Clot behind the wheel.

Today we also find that Romain Monti and the team have apparently parted company for reasons unknown so will this be the new team Le Mans Cup entry?

This weekend will see them compete in two – twenty-five minute races before a forty five minute race to complete the weekend in another mixed grid of over forty cars!

Romain is an experienced Silver graded driver who has raced for a decade in a variety of sportscar categories, frequently showing race-winning pace to help him towards accolades such as victory at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2018.

The Frenchman started his racing career in the Porsche Carrera Cup before racing in the Blancpain GT Endurance Cup. He joined Bullitt Racing in 2019 to compete in the GT4 European Series, recording an impressive three podium positions, including two race wins, from the six-round championship.

Stephen raced under the Bullitt Racing name for the first time in 2017, alongside Andrew Meyrick in the GT4 European Pro-Am Championship. Guest entries followed in the Southern series with Ian Loggie and Callum MacLeod, securing podiums in each of the four rounds. Most recently, alongside Romain, he competed in the GT4 South European Series, taking victory at Estoril. 

Bullitt Racing continue its test programme later this month at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and then MotorLand Aragón and will confirm its Asian Le Mans Series drivers shortly.
