The latest AMR kid on the block down in South Africa
Nothing new in a new iteration AMR competing within that country of course as that accolade went to the Garage 59 team when they competed within the Kyalami 9hrs Intercontinental GT event at Kyalami few years ago, but this news will see the platform move into their domestic GT theatre for the first time.
Listed as racing under the Into Africa racing banner, this Stradale Motorsport support car will be driven by SAGT owner and prominent promotor of South African motorsport racing driver Xolile Letlaka for the final round of the series at the Killarney Motorsport Park this weekend amongst a fourteen car grid.
No stranger to modern GT platforms having raced at the last Kyalami 9Hrs within a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo, his latest acquisition has only just arrived within the country so there has been no time for any prior testing.
The provenance of this Aston Martin is yet to be determined, whether it is a new platform or not only time will tell but Letlaka will be in good hands at Stradale with the team having raced a V12 AMR Vantage GT3 within the series a few years ago.

V12 Vantage GT3 wins again and again in South Africa
Thanks to the great work from the Facebook page Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 Chassis Number Tracker we can continue to keep ourselves up to date with various club racing teams from around the world.
Whilst racing eyes move across from the venerable AMR V12 Vantage GT3 to the new 2019 turbo charged V8 specification this year, we need to remind ourselves of the remaining V12 GT3's that are still running with great success with smaller, private teams.
In this case it is the again the Stradale Motorsport prepared entry for Charl Arangies that hit the top step over the weekend with a trio of first places in the South African G&H Transport Racing Championship from the Killarney International Raceway.
Still being under the weather from a lingering head cold, Arangies still managed to dominate the grid with his former Motorbase GT3 machine - continuing from where he had left off in 2018!

International news catch up
Putting today's new out of Paris to one side, elsewhere in the world has seen #TeamAMR kick off 2018 with a brace of podiums in South Africa and the re-emergence of our friends down under.
Charl Arangies and his Stradale Motorsport team kicked off their opening rounds of their national Extreme Supercars Series two weeks ago with two lights to chequered flag overall race wins aboard their former Motorbase Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage GT3. This is their first year aboard the AMR having stepped up last year from a Lamborghini.
Meanwhile and over in the USA last month, Canadian based GT Racing were again out with their former PFL Motorsport V12 Vantage GT3 at the PBOC Motorsport Winterfest event at the Sebring International Raceway where father and son duo Marc and Louis-Philippe Montour extended their collection of silverware for their efforts
Competing in two sprint races and a six hour night enduro, the duo collected class gongs for P3 and P2 in class for each sprint race respectively before claiming top class honours in the night race.
Over in Queensland, Australia and not race meeting related we saw Miedecke Stone Motorsport out for the first time this year (yesterday) shaking down their two V12 Vantage GT3's after their winter rebuilds which sees their chassis #11 (the white car) being listed for sale whilst final deals are put into place for their remaining GT3/GT4 machinery within their domestic Australian GT series.
