Jetalliance Racing Le Mans rehearsal at Spa

Tuesday, May 05, 2009

Only six weeks left to go – “Operation” Le Mans is getting ever closer – Jetalliance Racing is on course for the season highlight. The Aston Martin DBR9 has been modified according to the regulations of the classic 24 hour race, now the dress rehearsal is just around the corner – and on May 8th to 10th the waiting will end. Team owner Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer (pictured above), Germany’s Alex Müller and Thomas Gruber from Vienna will take part in the Le Mans Series Spa six hour race – the second round of the 2009 season in the GT1 class.

Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer: “Our team has been carrying out heavy work in the last weeks, modifying the Aston Martin DBR9 according to ACO regulations. Now I’m anxious to know how these changes have affected the handling of the car.”

Major changes include aerodynamics with a new front, sealed-up air intakes, new rear-view mirrors and a rear wing that is one centimetre lower – not forgetting the mandatory air condition, of course.

LLH: “I’m expecting a lot of the air condition, we should see some considerable improvements in this area.”

The race weekend in Belgium begins on Friday the 8th with free practice, followed by a second free practice session and qualifying on Saturday the 9th, and finally the race on Sunday the 10th, which will start at 12.50 p.m.
