Red Hot Performance for Beechdean

Sunday, August 16, 2009

The Aston Martin DBRS9 had qualified in 7th place – a decent start by lead off driver Andrew Howard on a circuit that is well known to clash with Astons. “I think the race went really well,” said driver Andrew Howard. “We set ourselves target times on a difficult circuit for the car. We delivered those times and we were very pleased with a competitive 5th place, 2 places ahead of our qualifying position.” Beechdean managed to successfully avoid a number of nudges and spins that affected much of the pack.

Handing over for a pit stop on the hour in fourth place challenging for third, Jamie Smyth continued Howard’s blistering pace until tyre condition in the final few laps reigned in the team’s impressive performance for the finishing result.

Beechdean’s presence at Silverstone was bolstered this weekend with significant support from all aspects of the business and some 150 guests enjoyed luxury entertainment with the team’s brand new hospitality unit. Mascot Beechdean Bob was a huge hit throughout the circuit including a guest appearance on the grid!

Beechdean Motorsport looks forward to another inspiring performance at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on 19-20 September.
