Young Driver AMR : Peter Kox

Friday, February 12, 2010

Young Driver AMR is pleased to announce that Peter Kox from the Netherlands (Holland) will join Tomáš Enge and Christoffer Nygaard as co-pilot of the Young Driver AMR DBR9 racing in this year’s edition of the magnificent 24 hours of Le Mans.

Kox is a driver legend in his native country and brings experience, a winning mentality and racing style to this exciting line-up of mixed nationalities. Throughout his career Kox has combined his racing skills with his knowledge for engineering and hence he has always been an important part of a technical team as well as a successful podium finisher.

Since winning five straight go-kart championship from ’78 to ’82, he has moved between single-seaters, touring cars and the GT classes with success and ease, including stints as part of the developing team behind the amazing McLaren F1 of the 1990s. During this millennium he has concentrated on GT cars with a win at Le Mans in 2003 as the crowning achievement – so far.

Both the team and his co-drivers are excited by his inclusion in the line-up and anything less than a podium finish will be a major disappointment.
