Hexis AMR : 2010 programme

Tuesday, February 09, 2010

Before revealing the HEXIS AMR 2010 programme, a quick recap on 2009, which turned out to be packed full of suspense. For the first time, HEXIS AMR won the FIA GT3 European Championship Teams title, and finished second in the Drivers standings. A wonderful reward for the team that worked relentlessly throughout the season.

If 2009 was a historic year for the team, 2010 will be just as decisive. HEXIS Racing AMR becomes HEXIS AMR. In parallel, the sporting programme increases as the team takes on a new challenge. In addition to their fourth season in FIA GT3 with the Aston Martin DBRS9s, this year, HEXIS AMR will take part in the first FIA GT1 World Championship with two DBR9s. HEXIS AMR will be the sole French team out of twelve to run in this new championship: a particularly symbolic challenge for the team from southern France.

HEXIS AMR is pleased to announce the first of its drivers for the 2010 season. Jean-Denis Delétraz has just signed to drive DBR9 #9. Delétraz will partner Frédéric Makowiecki, the team’s leading driver since 2007. Delétraz started his career in 1982 (he ran in Formula 1), but in 1996 Delétraz decided to focus on endurance races and soon became one of the main characters with numerous wins and podiums in FIA GT championships, one of which was in Aston Martin DBR9. Career highlights so far:

- 9 wins in GT1
- 2007 : 1st of Spa 24 hours
- 2006 : FIA GT Vice Champion in Aston Martin DBR9
- 2002 : 1st at Le Mans 24 hours in LMP 675
- 2001 : 1st at Le Mans 24 hours in LMP 675

This partnership between HEXIS AMR and Delétraz is supported by the latter’s historic partner: ACM.ch (Advanced Currency Markets – www.currency.ch). This society, founded in 2002 and whose head office is based in Geneva, is today one of the world leaders in the online forex field.

In GT3 Manu Rodrigues and Fred Mako will form the first driver pairing at the wheel of the DBRS9 #1with one objective, to win the drivers title. Manu Rodrigues won at Adria in 2009, and ranked 4th in the FIA GT3 European Championship with Mako. Rodrigues continues in GT3 with his long-standing partners: RHBM holding and PRMCC, of which he is president. PRMCC (Projet Réalisation Montage Charpente Couverture) is a company based in Collégien (close to Paris) specialising in roofing. To date, it employs about forty people and enjoys nearly 20 years’ experience.

HEXIS AMR is currently preparing for the season ahead. Most of the team is in Banbury (England), at the Aston Martin Racing factory preparing the team’s two DBR9s to the 2010 regulations. The rest of the team is preparing the DBRS9s in the Lédenon workshops.
