Stefan Mücke : The champion returns

Thursday, April 08, 2010

Last year's le mans series champion Stefan Mücke will be back for the first round of the Le Mans Series (LMS) this weekend (April 9 to 11) on the high-speed test track in Le Castellet. Also taking part in the 8-hour race (starting Sunday, April 11, 11 clock) in the 009 Lola-Aston Martin will be Adrian Fernandez and Harold Primat. The same two Aston Martin works drivers that Stefan Mücke took third place with in the 12-hour race at Sebring.

"In Le Castellet the competition from the diesel-works cars from Peugeot and Audi is even larger and thus for us a podium is hardly certain," said the sports car driver from Berlin. "But the race is long and a lot can happen. And maybe we can annoy the diesel cars. I am pleased be competing in Le Castellet, which is another good preparation for the Le Mans 24-hours in mid-June, "adds Stefan. Whether the 28-year-old will compete in another LMS race this year is not clear.

After Le Castellet Stefan will go on to compete in the FIA GT1 World Championship with Young Driver AMR partnered by Christoffer Nygaard
