Villois Racing: GT Open Spa race report

Sunday, June 27, 2010

The legendary Belgian track of Spa-Francorchamps hosted a hard race for the Lancieri-Lancelotti team.
Even if they had to start at the bottom of the line-up in both races, in order to discount the Imola penalties, the pilots never lost their enthusiasm and determination.

On Saturday, Lancieri’s start was a masterpiece and Lancelotti was very determined during the race. They even reached the second position but the excessive wear of the front tires forced them back to the sixth position.

On Sunday, after a race final, which filled our blood with adrenalin, the DBRS9 #52 ended the race on the third step of the podium.
A great enterprise for Gianandrea Crespi, who had decided to race on the DBRS9 #53 alone.

He was the actual hero of this weekend for the whole team and staff. The physical efforts required to drive the Aston Martin for 70 minutes on Saturday and for 50 minutes on Sunday were felt in the pit as well.

A bitter away race for the Vantage GT2, however, with a transmission breakdown already on Friday in the first session of the free runs, after such a brilliant debut at Imola. It was impossible to race on Saturday and an electronic trouble reduced the car engine power on Sunday.
