Young Driver AMR: Starting 8th and 18th at Spa

The two Young Driver AMR-Aston Martin DBR9 will start from 8th and 18th position on the grid into Friday’s Qualifying Race at Spa-Francorchamps. Tomas Enge had bad luck in the Qualifying practise, as he was dropped out in Q1, the first round of the three segment knock-out qualifying. “I really don’t know what happened, the car didn’t feel too bad, but I just didn’t made it“, Enge said. “We only used one set of tyres, while everybody else used two sets. Maybe we also should have used two sets.“

Christoffer Nygaard brought the #8 Young Driver-Aston Martin into Q2 when he was 13th quickest in Q1. In the following Q2 session, it was on Stefan Mücke. The German lapped the 4th quickest time in the session and brought the Aston Martin DBR9 in the final Q3 round. In the Q3 round of the fasted eight car, it was again on Christoffer Nygaard. The young Dane finished the session in 8th position.
