22GT Racing: Back in British GT for 2011

Friday, April 08, 2011

22GT Racing will return to the British GT this year. Tom Alexander will be partned by Adrian Willmott in the new for 2011 GT3B class with their Aston Martin DBRS9.

The team last raced in the British GT in 2008 in the GT3 class and will race the same car this year without anyaditional upgrades or modifications.

“Unfortunately we’ll miss the first round. But looking forward to a really good season. I’ve been too busy to race the last couple of years but we’ve got the old car out" said Tom Alexander speaking to the British GT website. "It’s a 2005-2006 car so it’s not going to be that competitive, it’s quite an old car compared to the rest of the grid.”

“When we heard about Class B that’s one of the reasons why we brought the car out of retirement actually. There’s obviously going to be a new Aston GT3 Vantage V12 for next year and we look forward to a season in old car this and maybe the new Aston for next.”

“Astons are in the blood, it’s quite nice thinking about the smaller car with the V12 engine and I think it’s going to be a good car. There’s lots of development going on at Aston Martin Racing for the new GT3 car so I look forward to testing it next season.”
