David King, Director of Motorsport at Aston Martin, pleased with the race result, said: “We have been very successful here today with all our cars seamlessly starting 2011 after last year’s successes. In the first race of the season, we are aiming to warm up for the annual highlight; the 24 Hours in June.

“We have been undertaking some modifications over the winter months in particular relation to aerodynamics, chassis and tyres. We therefore wanted to test these as soon as possible so that we can go home with new data and continue improvements. With this excellent start, we are very optimistic for the new season.“
