Vantage GTE tests at Donington

Friday, December 14, 2012

Whilst most of us are starting to wind down as Christmas approaches, Aston Martin Racing appear to be stepping up their efforts, with the team out testing the new 2013 spec Vantage GTE again, this time at an icy Donington Park.

The test was primarily to allow Villois Racing’s Alvaro Barba and Matteo Malucelli to gain experience in the 2012 car ahead of a potential program in 2013, with AMR taking the opportunity to put some more mileage on the 2013 iteration of the Vantage GTE. Factory driver, Darren Turner set an early benchmark in the 2012 car before moving on to the new machine to allow the team to assess the performance their new challenger.

As mentioned previously the 2013 Vantage features both mechanical and aesthetic changes over the 2012 with a wider, more aggressive front end.

We’ll be running a full technical series on Aston Martin’s road and race cars later in the year.
