AMR Works driver at VLN1 (UPDATED)

Friday, March 27, 2015

TODAYS FIRST EVENT OF THE 2015 VLN CALENDAR WAS EAGERLY ANTICIPATED FOR THE CHALLENGES IT PLACES MAN AND HIS MACHINE UNDER. AS YOU MAY WELL BE AWARE OF NOW AND FOLLOWING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT INVOLVING CAR NUMBER 23 A SPECTATOR WAS KILLED AND TEN OTHERS INJURED AFTER THE VEHICLE LEFT THE CIRCUIT.

THE RACE WAS IMMEDIATELY RED FLAGGED TO ALLOW EMERGENCY VEHICLES TO REACH THE SCENE BEFORE THE RACE BEING ABANDONED JUST AFTER THE HOUR MARK DUE TO TEH SEVERITY OF THE INCIDENT.

OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH THOSE AFFECTED BY TODAYS SHOCKING NEWS.

Don't forget that whilst the majority of the Aston Martin Racing works team are testing at the FIA WEC Prologue at Circuit Paul Ricard in the south of France, other members of the team are preparing themselves for the first race of the VLN Series at the infamous 'Green Hell' tomorrow.

Competing in the #27 Bilstein liveried V12 Vantage GT3 will be full time works drivers Darren  Turner and Stefano Mucke.

Alongside them shall be the unofficial 'Junior' team the likes of Richie Stanaway, Jonny Adam and Mathias Lauda competing in the #134 Aston Martin Test Centre N430 GT4 car.

Live timing will become available here on Saturday.
