With what has become to be an annual pilgrimage to warm winter testing circuits in southern Europe, this years event at Monteblanco, Spain is again providing many of the factory drivers and Partner teams of Aston Martin Racing with essential pre season test mileage before their respective seasons.

We know from old that this weekend is primarily used by the factory to get their WEC driver line ups back up to speed with any developmental work or changes that have occurred on the cars and to get some crucial track mileage in under their belts prior to the first round of the series at Silverstone in April. It is also a facility that is made available to the factory's full Partner teams to do likewise and to allow potential new drivers/teams to sample the Vantage race cars.

What we know is that there are at least three WEC V8 GTE cars there on track with at least another eleven GT3 and GT4 cars and a driver list that is almost impossible to estimate. As with previous events, information coming out of the circuit is pretty limited for obvious commercial/sporting reasons.

The big point being made with the GTE cars this weekend is that we are now expecting the public release of the new WEC/Le Mans livery. This and confirmation of the remaining driver positions however is not likely to happen much before the Prologue in a few weeks time.

From a Partner Team side of things we know that Motorbase have their three GT3's there, Beechdean with their two cars together with cars from Academy, 22GT Racing and TF Sport amongst others.

Looking at social media today it appears that there is going be a special AMR test weekend broadcast on Radio Le Mans after this Wednesday's Midweek Motorsport Show at about 10pm GMT. We also expect that the remaining Partner Team announcements (Motorbase) will be confirmed to the public on the back of this test.
