Ex. Villois Vantage GT2 sells at Bonhams

Saturday, May 09, 2015

Bonhams Aston Martin Works auctions today saw the sale of the former Villois Racing Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT2 - chassis 007, with the car being just one of just three such roadworthy examples left of the ten originally built.

The car last saw active competition with the Villois team in 2012 in the GT Open series at the hands of Alvaro Barba and Matteo Malucelli before the team then took delivery of a V12 Vantage GT3 to complete the year.

The car also ran at the Aston Martin Festival support event at the 24Hrs of Le Mans in the same year with Luca Filippi and Brian Lavio who ended up winning the race by a clear minute in the very wet Saturday morning track conditions.

Selling today for a very reasonable sounding £124,700.00 it is obviously hoped that the new owner will enter the car into more 'historical' meetings although it is probably too late for this years Aston Martin festival at Le Mans.
