What could be going on at Aston Martin Racing?

The FIA WEC today released their provisional entry for the 6Hrs of The Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas in just under two weeks time with a couple of glaring spaces in the driver line ups. The #96 and #98 GTE Am class cars remain the same as does the #99 GTE Pro car but the #95 and #97 GTE Pro cars however are both entered with just a driver pairing and not necessarily the ones we take for granted.

For what will be the third race of the season the Danish #95 Young Driver car will again be without the driving services of countryman Nikki Thiim. There was speculation at the previous round in Germany that he would deputise for a suspended Audi driver in the DTM series that weekend but that didn't come about and nor did a reason for any continued race absence.

For CoTA his name is again absent due to another of his prior driving commitments, this time in GT Masters at Zandvoort leaving Christoffer Nygaard and Marco Sorenen to fly the flag on their own again.

More notably however is the absence of a one Stefan Mucke from the #97 GTE Pro leaving the other half of the car 'marriage' - Darren Turner to race with the young yet extremely talented Jonny Adam.

Autosport are tonight reporting that Mucke has been placed by AMR's team boss John Gaw in support of their customer team Oman Racing at the upcoming Blancpain Endurance Series finale at the Nurburgring on the same weekend as the WEC. Oman Racings regular third driver (Jonny Adam) is himself racing in Texas at the WEC!!

Confused?

Adam's continued factory call up has left Oman Racing in a bit of a quandary as that has left the team with just a single driver having released their regular 'pro' driver (Daniel Lloyd) a few weeks ago. A new third driver for the BES event has yet to be announced.
