Pre season testing begins

Thursday, February 04, 2016

Following on from the disappointment of earlier there was at least some good news to report in that one of Aston Martin Racings Partner teams begun their pre season testing today at the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk.

With TF Sport presenting two beautifully liveried V12 Vantages GT3's, a bright eyed Jonny Adam was on hand to undertake a simple post winter rebuild & systems shakedown test on both the car that he will share with Derek Johnston in British GT and that that will be raced by Euan Hankey and Salih Yoluc in both the International GT Open and the new GT3 Le Mans Cup championships.

The car that team new recruits Jon Barnes and Mark Farmer will race in British GT was conspicuous by its absence.

Presumably somewhat drained from his Rolex24 experience at Daytona last weekend Adam was at least pleased that his services were only required during the morning session. Whilst the stunning white/red and black car tested on the new for 2016 Pirelli control rubber (wets were the order of the day unfortunately) the blue and luminous ES Motors sponsored car sported Michelin rubber to represent the European series.

Speaking to Adam he confirmed that the Pirelli was something of a struggle in comparison to the Michelin around the very cold and damp track due to the low track temperature.

We understand that the two cars will now be serviced in readiness for the annual pilgrimage to a Spanish circuit for the #TeamAMR winter test with the Factory GTE and other Partner team cars.

The team will be back at Snetterton for the British GT Media Day on 15th March.
