Solaris pushing the envelope ready for season opener

Wednesday, March 09, 2016

The latest addition to #TeamAMR- Italian team Solaris Motorsport were out and about testing again today this time at Monza, all in readiness for the start of their Italian GT Season that kicks off at that circuit at the beginning of May.

Still getting to grips with the characteristics of the front engined V12 Vantage GT3, team boss Francesco Sini (aka 'Ringhio' apparently!) together with returning driver Marcello Puglisi (who is expected to re sign with the team for the 2016 season) put in multi lap runs with differing setups.

The team commented that the Monza and Vallelunga tracks (as tested first time out with the AMR last month) offered most of the track features that the whole 2016 Italian GT season would throw upon them.

Whilst Monza was the fastest circuit of them all with fast flowing corners their Vallelunga test, a few weeks ago, offered a more technical setup for tracks like Imola and Mugello. Only Misano would present differing set up issues!.

The team confirmed that finishing as high as possible within the Italian GT Series was their primary objective for the year but would not discount any possible 'one off' appearances in other series should time and funds allow.
