Testing times for TF Sport in Europe
Monday, March 07, 2016
The next couple of weeks or so will see TF Sport criss-crossing between the south of France and the south coast of Spain in pursuance of a testing programme that is now required of them to be in order to be competitive in Europe.
Starting with the Aston Martin Racing winter test at Valencia the other week the team have now just completed a further two day test at the Paul Ricard circuit in France practising on the new for 2016 Michelin Pilot Sport GT P2L rain tyre. The new tyre has been specifically designed to limit the impact of being on such a tyre on a drying track and limit the number of set up changes on the car itself as previously required with its predecessor.
With the Michelin being the control tyre for both the GT3 Le Mans Cup and the International GT Open series it was time well spent getting used to the WEC inspired tyre with full factory technical support and assistance being available.
With that test finishing today (Monday 7th March) the car will now be shipped back over to Spain for the second official International GT Open Winter pre season test, this time at Barcelona over the 15-16th March.
Then, following that test the team would then be due back at Le Castellet for the first and only official test of the Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup just after the closing date for entries on the 14th March (testing 19th & 20th March). The first round of the new championship will then take place at Imola, Italy in mid May just prior to their showcase event at Le Mans in mid June.
