PFL Motorsport looking forward to home race in BGT

Oulton Park in Cheshire will host the next round of the spectacular British GT Championship on May 30th and for the PFL Team and Driver Peter Littler this is the first opportunity to race in front of their home crowd. Peter, from Halton, has already made an impact on the series and approaches the third race of the season following a successful test at the Cheshire track last week in his 600HP Aston Martin.

“We had our first chance this season to work through a test programme last Friday and it was really useful to improve our understanding of the car and to make it work for us.” reported Peter after the one-day test. “The Vantage GT3 is such a complex piece of kit, it can be adjusted in every aspect, with electronics, suspension, ride heights and the aerodynamics so there is always an improvement to be found which is why testing is so rewarding”

Remarkably Peter, who is classed as 40% disabled is going into only his third GT race this weekend has set his sights on another top ten finish. The format changes this weekend to 2 races, each lasting 1 hour with each driver taking a 30 minute stint before changing over mid race.

PFL Driver Jody Fannin explained “The pit lane at Oulton mirrors the track feature, it is narrow and will be very crowded during the compulsory driver change window so this will be a critical part of the race” This provides significant challenge for Pete, an amputee with false hips and a plethora of bolts and plates holding his pelvis and spine in place but the team and drivers have been practising and making adjustments in the cockpit to assist the drivers during the changeover.

Qualifying will take place on Saturday afternoon with the races at 1115 and 1530 on Bank Holiday Monday where there will be a 30 strong field of some of the most iconic sports car brands fighting it out on the narrow and undulating Oulton Park Circuit.
