Stanaway to miss CoTA

Friday, August 05, 2016

With the new 'slim line' Aston Martin Racing driver team only having completed one race at the Nurburgring Ring two weeks ago, it appears that another driver reshuffle will be in order in readiness for the sixth round of the World Endurance Championship at the Circuit of the Americas in mid September.

It is being reported on the Australian Supercars.com website that Richie Stanaway has been cleared to race the Super Black Racing V8 again at the Sandown 500 alongside team regular Chris Pither on the weekend that directly clashes with the FIA WEC CoTA event in supported of the Prodrive prepared car.

The reported directly suggests that the previous calendar clash for Stanaway has now been resolved and clears him to race in one of the Australian V8 series headline endurance events.

That obviously leaves one question - who will replace him? Will this see Jonny Adam reappear in the #97 car with Darren Turner like he did last year or will Fernando Rees come back with the Valero livery again?
